In class exercise & launching of new project...

We were given a piece of steel wire during the lecture. With this piece of wire we need to use it to intertact with a body part and it has to be worn on the body.
















After the lecture, the new project project was launched...Sense & Sense-ability.

In this project, we need to work in a team of 3 to 4 people and create a machine that reduces and enhances our 5 senses to experience space.

As a group, we went to chinatown and haji Lane to look for the shophouses. We need to look for shophouses with one airwell and without courtyard to measure and record the dimensions so that we could proceed on to draw the construction drawings.

Intect assignment: The body shop

Before we started on the assigment, we learnt about anthropometry and ergonomics. We need to understand that proportion is important as it enables comfort and the use of the ease of use of elements. Therefore, in this assignment, we measured and documented our drawings and dimensions of our body.

In Exercise 1 & 2, we explored variations of different stationary and moving position. From these positions, we measured and recorded the dimension of our own body.

After completing Exercise 3(measuring of staircase), we learnt that the riser, thread and railing have certain standard dimensions as ergonomics is important to provide comfort and ease in the enviroment for human use.

In Exercise 4, we explored the relationship of the working body with different kinds of furniture.

We have our lectures on Photograph Compositions in the Tuesday morning and studio photography after our lunch.

We were given the first assignment too.

Firstly, we were assigned to a colour group and we need to take photos of that theme and come up with an A1 size collage. I am in the blue group. We can shoot anything we want, as long as the snapshot has a predominant colour of choice.

Each of us will contribute 2 photos in the making of the collage.
